PARKS, BENFICA EXTEND CONTRACT
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Saturday, December 9, 2017
Midfielder Keaton Parks continues to make inroads at Portuguese team Benfica and they have such high hopes for him that they have added another year to his contract until 2022.

The 20-year-old, who made the move to the Lisbon over the summer, has played primarily with Benfica B. His good performances down in the second division then earned him a promotion to the first team as he went on to make his debut with them on November 18 in their 2-0 win over Vitoria Setubal in the Taca de Portugal.

I feel great. I feel excited. I'm excited to start this new journey with Benfica, and continue this journey with Benfica, and get my chance with the A team or B team as it goes forward," Parks said in an interview with the team's television channel.

Parks, who has so far been called up to the US Under-20 national team, will be looking to build on the confidence the Benfica have in him as he looks to earn his way into becoming a regular in the first team.
