Matt Miazga and Vitesse were no match for Nice as the French team easily dispatched their Dutch competition in the latest round of group games in the Europa League.
Nice 3-0 Vitesse
A pair of goals from Alassane Plea and an Allan Saint-Maximin strike in the first half were enough for Nice to walk away with a comfortable over Vitesse at the Allianz Riviera.
After their defeat to Lazio in their first group game, things became even more difficult for the Dutch team as they took on Nice which is looking to make a strong run in the tournament after stumbling out of the Champions League.
The Eaglets would open the scoring in the 16th minute when Alassane Plea connected on a strike following a headed pass from teammate Dante from a corner kick.
Nice's quick attacks gave Vitesse problems all night and the host doubled their lead just before halftime as Allan Saint-Maximin's shot on the edge of the area beat goalkeeper Remko Pasveer at the far post.
The visitors tried to make a game of it, but found it difficult to put any pressure on the Nice goal.
However, the host had no problems scoring and put the game away in the 82nd minute when Plea bagged his second goal on the night when he took a pass from Bassem Srarfi put the ball past Pasveer at the near post.
Vitesse remains pointless in Group K. They can get their first points in the competition when they face Belgium's Zulte Waregem on October 19.
Aaron Schoenfeld did not dress for Maccabi Tel Aviv as the Israeli team settled for a 0-0 tie with Villarreal. Maccabi currently sit in third place in Group A with one point.
