DeAndre Yedlin will miss the start of the English Premier League season as Newcastle United have reported that the full-back has suffered a hamstring injury.
Yedlin suffered the injury during the Magpies friendly game against Mainz.
According to Newcastle head coach Rafa Benitez, Yedlin will be out of action for two to three weeks, meaning that he will miss out on the team's first game against his former employer Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Seattle Sounder, who joined Newcastle last year, was an integral part of the team's success as they went on to win the English Championship that saw them earn promotion back to the Premier League.
