KENYA BROWN - Tuesday, June 6, 2017
Daniel Schmidt did not have much to do as Vegalta Sendai cruised to a comfortable win over Ventforet Kofu in the latest round of the Japanese J1 League over the weekend.

Vegalta Sendai 3-0 Ventforet Kofu

Vegalata Sendai continued their push up the standings as they scored a big win over Ventforet Kofu at the Yurtec Stadium.

The host opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Naoki Ishihara as his diving header found the back of the net after a cross from teammate Katsuya Nagato from the left side.

Sendai was able to hold on to their slim lead for much of the game but finally found the insurance goals in the second half after Kofu defender Shohei Abe received a red card in the 60th minute for his dangerous high kick on Nagato.

Crislan made it 2-0 for Sendai when he got his foot on the ball following another cross into the area from Nagato and his shot beat Kofu goalkeeper Hiroki Ota.

Yong-Gi Ryang put the game away for Sendai in the 81st minute when he connected on a pass from Takuma Nishimura and beat the goalkeeper at the near post.

The win moves Sendai up to 10th place in the standings with 20 points.
