KENYA BROWN - Sunday, May 22, 2016
U.S. national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced on Saturday his final 23-man roster for next month's Copa América Centenario.

A total of 15 players who participated in the 2014 World Cup have been included in the team.

Brad Guzan has been announced as the starting goalkeeper for the team's opening game Colombia, with Tim Howard and youngster Ethan Horvath as the backups.

Klinsmann will be looking to find the right combination at the center back positions as he as has selected Matt Besler, John Brooks, Steve Birnbaum and Michael Orozco. Losing out on a spot on the roster in Omar Gonzalez who has been playing on a regular basis with Liga MX side Pachuca.

DeAndre Yedlin and Tim Chandler will be competing against each other for the starting role at right back. As for the left back position, with Tim Ream and Edgar Castillo being omitted, it looks like Fabian Johnson will once again be filling that role despite playing in the midfield for Borussia Mönchengladbach all this season. However, Chandler could also be used on the left in case Klinsmann decides to put Johnson in the midfield.

Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Perry Kitchen, Darlington Nagbe and Graham Zusi have been selected for the midfield.

The U.S. attack options will come in the likes Clint Dempsey, Christian Pulisic, Chris Wondolowski, Bobby Wood and Gyasi Zardes.

The team are currently in Puerto Rico to play in an exhibition game on Sunday. They will play exhibition games against Ecuador and Bolivia in the coming days before opening group play against Colombia on June 3 in Santa Clara, California.
