KENYA BROWN - Saturday, October 25, 2014
Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg play host to Sandnes Ulf, while Michael Stephens, Andrew Jacobson and Stabaek go on the road to take on Sarpsborg 08 in Norway this weekend.
Rosenborg - Sandnes Ulf
The Troll Kids welcome Sandnes Ulf to the Lerkendal Stadium as they try to hold on to third place their slim lead for the second Europa League spot.
Rosenborg have played well as of late as they have six out of their last seven games. While the team overall has played very well, midfielder Mike Jensen has stood out.
The Dane has looked marvelous over the past few games setting up teammates for scoring opportunities along with reading of the game. He has also contributed his fair share of goals as he has bagged six this season.
Diskerud went out injured in the first half of the team's 3-2 win over Valerenga last week, so his status for this weekend's game is questionable.
Last place Sandnes Ulf will have to rely on luck in the final three games of the season if they want any chance of finishing in the relegation playoff spot.
It has been a roller coaster ride for the team who just missed out on relegation in the past two seasons, but their form this season may seal their fate. However, they are only three points behind 14th place Sogndal, so they have a legitimate shot at getting a second chance at life in the Tippeligaen.
Sarpsborg 08 - Stabaek
The Blue Ones will pay a visit to the Sarpsborg Stadium in hopes of coming away with three points.
As both teams are have guaranteed their safety in the Tippeligaen for next season, this game is all about finishing this season strong.
Stabaek are coming into the game off two consecutive draws in which they had to come from behind late. The team would not have gotten points in those games without the performance of goalkeeper Mande Sayouba. The Ivory Coast international has made some key saves throughout the season that has kept his team in games.
Stephens will very likely be in the starting eleven for Stabaek, while Jacobson's status is unknown as he was not in the team for last week's game.
Jeb Brovsky has not played in a long while and it does not look like he will be in the team once again as Stromsgodset take on Haugesund.
Down in the first division the battle for the four promotion playoff spots still continues. Rhett Bernstein will hope to be in the team as Mjondalen go on the road to face Bryne. Elsewhere, Bobby Warshaw and Baerum will try to snap their two game losing streak as they square off against HamKam.
