CORONA SUFFERS FRACTURED FOOT
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Sunday, October 19, 2014
United States midfielder Joe Corona will be out of action for the rest of 2014 after suffering a broken foot in a Liga MX game with Tijuana.

According to Tijuana sporting director Ignacio Palou, the 24-year-old broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the team's 2-1 win over Queretaro. Palou added that Corona would miss the remainder of the Apertura season.

The injury will also see the California native miss out on next month's friendlies against Croatia and Ireland. He was a part of the team that played against Ecuador and Honduras, coming on as a substitute in both games.

Corona went on to his Instagram to post a picture of himself on crutches with his right foot in a boot.

"Thanks to everyone for the love and support! We will be back in no time," he said.

Corona is expected to return around the start of the Clausura next year.
