Landon Donovan will get one last farewell for the United States national team as US Soccer announced that he will be called up for the October 10 game against Ecuador.

Donovan, 32, announced his plans to retire following the upcoming MLS season and following his stunning snub from the World Cup team, it appeared as if Donovan's final game would have been this past April against Mexico in Arizona.

"Congratulations to Landon Donovan on an absolutely amazing career," US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said in a statement. "He consistently raised the bar for himself these last 15 years, and he set a fantastic example for so many other American players to follow. As one of the best players in U.S. Soccer history, Landon should be proud of everything he has accomplished."

Donovan has been capped 156 times by the U.S. team and has scored 57 goals and notched 58 assists. As a veteran of three World Cups, he has scored five times on the game's biggest international stage.
