BRANDON WIGGINS - Friday, August 22, 2014
Alejandro Bedoya and FC Nantes have a tough match this Sunday when they host Ligue 1 power AS Monaco.
Nantes has gotten off to a solid start this season, earning four points in its first two matches, despite being hampered by heavy player transfer restrictions.
This is enough to have them tied for fifth place in the league, and a home win over Monaco would give them the kind of strong start that would help build crucial early momentum in what promises to be a challenging season.
Monaco, meanwhile, has struggled, losing its first two matches of the season. However, this is a club that finished in second place in the league last year and is being touted as one of the new financial powers in European soccer.
As for Bedoya, he played 88 minutes in Nantes' season opener, and was a 72nd minute substitution in the club's draw with FC Metz last weekend.
The match will be held Sunday at 3 P.M. Eastern Time.
