US defender Will Packwood has signed a one year extension with Birmingham according to the club's official website. The 21 year old's contract was up at the end of June.

Packwood will also have the ability to extend that one more year based on the new deal. The Massachusetts native spent time last season on loan with Bristol Rovers, where he made eight appearances.

Birmingham are coming off a season where they finished 21st in the Football League Championship in England and had to get at least a point to stave off relegation.

The US U-20 defender made 13 appearances and scored once last season for the Blues and will continue playing with fellow American Jonathan Spector.
