CHANDLER LIKELY OUT FOR SEASON
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, March 19, 2014
FC Nurnberg right back Timothy Chandler is unlikely to play again this season according to coach Gertjan Verbeek.

Verbeek made the comments to Nornbayern on Tuesday.

Chandler, who will turn 24 this month, has been out since suffering an injury on February 8 in Nurnberg's 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich. He left the game in the first half and it was later revealed to be a torn meniscus.

The injury came just days after U.S. national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann singled out Chandler for positive play. Chandler has not played for the U.S. national team since February 2013 during a 2-1 loss to Honduras.

The latest news likely means that Chandler will likely not be able to get into the U.S. national team picture before the opening of World Cup camp in May.
