BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, November 27, 2013
Hertha Berlin and U.S national team central defender John Anthony Brooks missed practice on Tuesday with a knee injury and has an MRI set for Wednesday.

Brooks, 20, is coming off his second start for the U.S national team last week in a 1-0 loss to Austria but was rested in Hertha Berlin's first game after the international break - a 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.

Sources confirm to YA that there was discomfort in his knee but the initial prognosis is that it is not serious. He is likely to miss this weekend's game against Augsburg and may miss additional games but he is not expected to be out for an extended time.

A more specific diagnosis is expected in the days ahead.
