BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, November 6, 2013
U.S national team midfielder Fabian Johnson has been out of action since late September for Hoffenheim but he could return for Saturday's match against Hertha Berlin.

Johnson, 25, suffered a calf injury five weeks ago and last played for Hoffenheim on September 28 in a 2-2 draw against Schalke. As of now, he is working out individually but is expected to return to full training with the team tomorrow.

"Fabian so far had only individual training to catch up," Hoffenheim spokesman Holger Tromp told YA on Wednesday. "He is supposed to be back in team practice by tomorrow in order to be an option for Saturday. My guess is that he will be back in the squad but not in the starting team"

Johnson's injuries forced him to miss the October qualifiers for the U.S national team but a callup for the November friendlies against Scotland and Austria is possible.
