BRANDON WIGGINS - Monday, November 4, 2013
Alejandro Bedoya and FC Nantes managed to secure a draw on the road at Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1 action this weekend.
Bedoya started for the club in a central midfield role this time and went the full 90 minutes.
Nantes struck first in the 22nd minute of the match when Filip Djordjevic got the ball in the center of the penalty box from Issa Cissokho and scored in the bottom right corner of the goal.
But Montpellier struck back in the 90th minute when Djamel Bakar scored from inside the penalty box off of an assist from Teddy Mezague.
All told, Nantes was lucky to escape with a draw, as Montpellier did a better job of controlling possession throughout the match.
Another disappointment for Nantes, Papy Djilobodji was given a yellow card, his third of the season.
For Bedoya, however, going the full match was a positive sign, after not seeing the field at all during Nantes' previous Ligue 1 match.
Nantes, meanwhile, remains in the top five of the Ligue 1 table. Next weekend, the team will head on the road again, this time to face FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
Montpellier will head on the road to face Valenciennes FC
