PACKWOOD LOANED TO BRISTOL ROVERS
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Thursday, October 17, 2013
American defender Will Packwood has been loaned from Birmingham City to
Bristol Rovers of League Two on a month long loan.

"Massively excited to be joining Bristol Rovers," Packwood said. "A huge opportunity for me and I hope to do as best for The Gas as I can."

The loan deal is an attempt for Packwood to earn some playing time as he attempts to come back from a gruesome injury in January where he broke his leg playing for Birmingham City in an FA Cup game against Leeds United.

Packwood has been with Birmingham City since the age of 14 when he moved to England to join the club's academy. He has regularly played with United States youth national teams from the U-17 through the U-20 level.

Through the first 11 games of the League Two season, Bristol Rovers currently sit in 20th place in the 24 team league.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
