Tigres visit Querétaro while Puebla hosts Club Tijuana in weekend Liga MX action.
Tigres - Querétaro
Jose Torres and Tigres travel to Querétaro for a Friday night matchup in Liga MX play. Tigres played Puebla to a scoreless draw last week and lost 3-2 to Santos Laguna Tuesday in Copa MX play. The highlight of the Copa MX loss was Torres getting his first goal of the season in the 41st minute.
UANL is currently in 11th place and will face a tough test in surprising Querétaro, who currently sit in 4th place and are seven points ahead of Tigres.
Tigres are unbeaten in five matches but have managed only one win. They've given up some late game tying goals and have trouble scoring consistently.
The Gallos Blancos had won four straight matches before falling 4-0 at Toluca last week and are lead by 33 year old Esteban Paredes. The Chilean midfielder has five goals in his second season in Mexico after transferring from rivals Atlante earlier this summer. He scored 16 goals last season.
Neither club have reported any injuries ahead of Friday's match.
Puebla - Club Tijuana
DaMarcus Beasley, Michael Orozco and Puebla welcome Club Tijuana and their contingent of American's on Sunday afternoon.
Puebla has struggled lately, only winning one of their last five matches and not scoring more than one goal in each of those games.
Tijuana has played well at home but struggled on the road and are winless away from the Estadio Caliente. The Xolos played to a scoreless draw with Cruz Azul last weekend and only Edgar Castillo started for the home team. Gregory Garza entered in the 72nd minute while Joe Corona was an unused sub. Paul Arriola was not in the 18 last week.
Tijuana are currently in 10th place in the league while Puebla are in 13th. Both teams have struggled to score goals lately and a low scoring game wouldn't be unexpected.
The Xolos are still without US striker Herculez Gomez, who encouragingly played his first reserve game and was a substitute in Thursday night's Champions League match with Victoria. La Franja.
Beasley should be back in action for La Franja after missing a match with a leg injury, according to Manager Rubén Omar Romano.
Benji Joya, Daniel Cuevas and Santos Laguna face Morelia.
Alonso Hernández and Monterrey host Pumas.
Venturo Alvarado and Necaxa visit Dorados on Saturday.
