Club Tijuana host Cruz Azul Friday night while Tigres host Puebla in Liga MX Apertura action.
Club Tijuana - Cruz Azul
Club Tijuana have been dominant at home this season with three wins, two draws and zero losses. Cruz Azul are coming off a 1-0 loss at home against Jose Torres and Tigres last week and are in seventh place in the league.
Gregory Garza and Paul Arriola were the only American's to see action last week in Tijuana's 3-0 win over Monterrey. The Xolos were once again lead by emerging star midfielder Fidel Martínez, who scored twice.
The Blue Crosses are lead by striker Hugo Pavone, who scored 20 goals last season, his first in Mexico. Additionally, Joao Rojas has emerged as a scoring threat with four goals in nine games since moving from Morelia earlie this summer.
Club Tijuana are still without Herculez Gomez after an injury forced him out of the Gold Cup this summer and he is still waiting for his Xolo debut. Xolos Manager Jorge Almiron did confirm that Gomez would play with the Under 20 team this weekend, however. Cruz Azul have not announced any injuries.
Tigres - Puebla
Jose Torres and Tigres host DaMarcus Beasley, Michael Orozco and Puebla on Saturday night.
Tigres come into the match unbeaten in four league matches, including their 1-0 win over Cruz Azul last week. UANL is currently in 11th place with 12 points through nine matches.
Puebla have 11 points through ten matches and are currently right behind Tigres in 12th spot. Puebla gave up two points last week when they committed a penalty in stoppage time, allowing Toluca to steal a draw on La Franja's home field.
Carlos Salcido was sent off for Toluca last week in the 53rd minute but they held on for the win despite being down to ten men. Tigres have not announced any injuries ahead of Saturday's match.
Beasley and his teammate Felipe Borja are both questionable with injuries for Saturday night's contest according to Puebla's new manager, Rubén Omar Romano.
Alonso Hernandez and Monterrey visit league leading Morelia on Friday night. Hernandez had an assist in Monterrey's midweek Copa MX over Puebla.
Daniel Cuevas, Benji Joya and Santos Laguna face Pachuca on Saturday.
Ventura Alvarado and Necaxa host Cruz Azul Hidalgo.
Adrian Ruelas and Veracruz visit Atlas on Saturday
