Club Tijuana host Veracruz while Tigres host Chivas in Saturday night action in Liga MX.
Club Tijuana - Veracruz
The Xolos will return home to face the Red Sharks but will be shorthanded with Edgar Castillo with the US National Team and Fernando Arce with the Mexican squad. Pablo Aguilar was also called into the Paraguay National Team and is unavailable this weekend. Veracruz will have to do without forward Angel Reyna, who is also on the Mexico squad for World Cup Qualifier's.
Paul Arriola, Joe Corona and Gregory Garza will be happy to return home after their third straight road loss this season last week. The Xolos went to 10 men after only four minutes and Chiapas scored a pair of late goals to win 3-1. They are currently in 13th place in Liga MX.
The Red Sharks have started off the 2013 Apertura well and are currently in fifth place in the standings. They came back with a stoppage time goal last week to salvage a draw at home with Tigres last week and have only lost one match all season.
Tijuana have appealed Gandolfi's red card last week and the Xolos' captain has won the appeal. He figures to start on Saturday. However, having Joe Corona at their disposal this weekend comes as a bit of a surprise after a strong showing this summer for the US. Tijuana will also be without Herculez Gomez, who is still recovering from knee surgery.
Adrián Ruelas has not made an appearance for Veracruz yet this year.
Tigres - Chivas
Jose Torres played 83 minutes last week and figures to start again this week after being left off the US roster for qualifier's against Costa Rica and Mexico.
Tigres were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Veracruz last week after giving up a late goal. UANL is currently in 12th place and have eight points in seven matches. Chivas have struggled all season and are in 16th place with only five points.
Tigres will be shorthanded this weekend with three important players being with El Tri; Carlos Salcido, Jose Torres Nilo and Damian Alvarez were all called into the team for their qualifers against the US and Honduras.
Chivas will be at full strength after not having anyone called into the Mexican team and neither team has announced any injuries.
DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco are with the US National Team as Puebla take on Querétaro.
Benji Joya, Daniel Cuevas and Santos Laguna take on Atlas.
Alonso Hernandez and Monterrey take on América.
Ventura Alvarado and Necaxa do not have a match this weekend.
