Brad Guzan and Aston Villa fell to Chelsea in a wild Wednesday Premier League showdown.

The American ‘keeper started, went the distance, and recorded two saves in the match.

Paul Lambert and company leave the game feeling undone as Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic elbowed Villa star Christian Benteke and was not sent off. Just minutes later Ivanovic scored the game-winner, to the dismay of the Villa faithful.

The game started off on the wrong foot for Villa as Chelsea got on the board in the 6th minute. Eden Hazard took a shot that Guzan impressively saved only for the ball to hit off Villa's Antonio Luna and fly into the net.

Villa however leveled the game in first half stoppage time as Gabriel Agbonlahor found Benteke who beat Petr Cech near corner.

In the 73rd minute though the Blues struck again to take the lead when Frank Lampard's free kick found Ivanovic who headed home.

Villa looks to rebound this weekend when they take on Liverpool at home.
