Josh Wicks once again started in goal but could not keep out the visitors as Thor fell to KR in Akureyri on Wednesday.
Wicks seems to have a lock on the starting goalkeeping position with his most recent start being his third in a row since returning from injury. Chuck Chijindu was not in the team as the club needed to sort out passport paperwork for the American. The UCONN alumni should be ready to go for the team's next game.
KR opened the scoring just before halftime through a penalty kick from Bjarni Gudjonsson in the 46th minute.
Thor leveled the match in the 59th minute with Sveinn Jonsson putting the ball in the back of the net.
From there the visitors took control, going ahead in the 66th minute through Oskar Hauksson.
Another penalty kick was the final nail in the coffin, with Hauksson putting it away for his second in the 78th minute.
The loss sees the team stay at 13 points on the year from 14 games. After a brutal stretch of matches that saw the team lose to the first, second, and fourth place teams, Thor travel to 10th place Vikingur Olafsvik on Sunday. The two teams last met in May, with Thor coming out on top 1-0 through a Chuck Chijindu goal.
