Benji Joya, Daniel Cuevas and Santos Laguna begin their Copa MX run Tuesday at home against second division club Zacatepec.
19 year old Joya featured in four matches last season with Santos' Senior Team and may see playing time in this early season cup match against a lower division team. Cuevas has yet to make his senior team debut for the Torreón based club.
Tuesday's Copa MX match will be Santos' first competitive match of the season. The Warriors will begin their Liga MX season on Friday when they host Cruz Azul, which may pave the way for younger players to feature in the Cup match.
Joya has spent the pre-season training with the senior team while Cuevas has primarily training with the Under 20 team and took place in an inter-squad practice match this weekend under the direction of the new manager.
Manager Pedro Caixinha joined Santos from first division Portuguese team Nacional in January and led Santos to a sixth place finish in the 2013 Clausura season.
The two American's spent most of their summer with the United States Under 20 team, who failed to make it out of the Group Stages at the Under 20 World Cup held in Turkey.
