ANDY SCHREUR - Sunday, June 9, 2013
American central midfielder Jermaine Jones confirmed on Sunday that he would be not playing on Tuesday against Panama in Seattle.

The Schalke midfielder was inadvertently elbowed by Jamacian midfielder Daniel Gordon in the 59th minute in the United States' 2-1 win in Kingston Friday night and later it was determined to have suffered a concussion. Jones was replaced by Geoff Cameron in central midfield.

Replacement options for Jurgen Klinnsmann include Stoke City's Cameron, Bolton's Stu Holden and Anderlecht midfielder Sacha Kljestan. The US is missing Danny Williams, who returned to Hoffenheim due to injury this weekend and Maurice Edu, who suffered a sports hernia while on loan at Bursaspor.

The Americans will also be without Graham Zusi, who will miss Tuesday's match due to yellow card accumulation.

The loss of Jones hurts, as the holding mid tandem of Jones/Bradley has been essential in covering our problems at CB... But the loss of Zusi REALLY stings, since we lose that creativity and service....
