Anderlecht dropped all the points in the Belgian play-offs as they fell to Club Brugge in the Flemish city with Maxime Lestienne striking twice for the home team.

Sacha Kljestan went the distance in Anderlecht's midfield and Massimo Bruno struck half way through the second half but it wasn't enough for the defending champions as the lost their third play-off game out of six.

Brugge's wunderkid Lestienne scored after just 15 minutes when a long ball from midfield picked him out and found himself one on one with Silvio Proto between the Anderlecht sticks. The striker won the contest and lit up the scoreboard. In the second half on the 62nd minute mark he did it again, doubling the lead.

Three minutes later the lead was cut back to a single goal after Dieumerci Mbokani picked out Bruno and the 19-year-old headed it into the back of the net.

Les Mauves had a great chance of getting something out of the game but it was not to be. Oscar Duarte gave up a penalty for manhandling Mbokani in the box and at the same time got himself red carded. The Congolese put the ball on the spot and struck it well but Vladen Kujovic made a very good save to secure the victory.

Fortunately for les Mauves, the league leaders Zulte-Waregem lost to Standard Liege so they remain just one point out of the top spot.

The defending champions will next see action when they host Standard for a Sunday afternoon matinee.
