ALTIDORE INJURY NOT SERIOUS

EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Sunday, April 21, 2013
Jozy Altidore was subbed out in the 53rd minute of AZ Alkmaar's 3-1 loss to PSV on Saturday with an apparent injury but the US international forward is not expected to miss any games.

Altidore currently has 28 goals across all competitions for AZ which is a record for American players in a single season in Europe.

"He is good to go and will be ready for Friday's match at Heerenveen," Altidore's publicist Jeremy Pond told YA on Sunday.

AZ currently sits in 14th place in the Eredivisie and is six points clear of the relegation playoff positions. There are three more Eredivisie games on the season left for AZ but the biggest game of the season for the club will come on May 9th when it will take on PSV in the finals of the Dutch Cup.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
