ANDY SCHREUR - Wednesday, April 3, 2013
Bryan Gerzicich and Ironi Kiryat Shmona face off with league leading Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

The Blue Lions are looking for their first win of the 2012-13 Israeli playoff's after drawing with Bnei Yehuda last weekend.

Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona are currently in fourth place and trail Hapoel Tel Aviv by seven points for the all important European qualifying position.

Maccabi Tel Aviv has been flying high all season and have a seven point lead over second place Maccabi Haifa. Tel Aviv was held to a scoreless draw on Saturday by Maccabi Haifa, which snapped an incredible eight match win streak.

The 18-time Israeli Champions have not lost a league match since January 19th.

Kiryat Shmona's impressive defense will be tested by prolific Tel Aviv striker Eliran Atar, who has 22 goals in 26 games this season.

The Blue Lions have struggled offensively this season and will most likely look to counterattack against the possession dominating league leader's.

Gerzicich and the defending league champions will travel to Maccabi Haifa for their third match in a week on Saturday. It'll be an important week for Kiryat Shmona after only one point in their first two matches in the playoffs.
