Fabian Johnson was injured for Hoffenheim's 3-0 win over Greuther Furth but the US international is expected to return to practice on Wednesday.

Johnson, 25, missed the game because of a left hip injury but will not miss much time

"Fabian suffers from a minor muscular problem around his left hip," Hoffenheim press officer Holger Tromp told YA on Monday. "He is supposed to be back in team practice by Wednesday."

The fact that Johnson's injury is minor is welcome news to the US national team who have seen several key players suffer injuries in recent weeks. Goalkeeper Tim Howard, right back Steve Cherundolo, and left back Edgar Castillo are not expected to be healthy for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico.

The news is also positive for Hoffehenheim who are in the middle of a relegation battle. The club currently sits second to last in the Bundesliga and trails 16th place Augsburg by two points for a relegation playoff spot.
