Bryan Gerzicich and Ironi Kiryat Shmona ended their regular season with a win over Bnei Sahknin at home on Saturday.

Ironi Kiryat Shmona 2 - 0 Bnei Sahknin

With the win, the Blue Lions clinch the third seed in the upcoming playoffs in an attempt to defend their 2011-2012 title, the first in the young club's history.

Ahmad Abed put the hosts in front in the 20th minute with only his third goal of the season when he directed a cross past Mahmoud Kandil. Then, the Kiryat Shmona defense clamped down and secured their third straight shutout win in league play. Osei Mawuli added an insurance goal in the 89th minute and guaranteed the win for the defending champions.

Meanwhile, Bnei Saknin finishes the season in 12th place and will enter the relegation playoffs without Manager Shlomi Dora, who was fired Sunday amid controversy and vocal backing by his players.

Bryan Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona will meet fourth-place Hapoel Tel Aviv next Saturday in the first round of the Championship Playoff.

Notes

Leonard Krupnik did not play as Maccabi Netanya lost to Maccabi Haifa 2-1.

Ryan Adeleye and Hapoel Ashkelon face Maccabi Umm al Fahm on Monday.
