PEARCE DEAL RACING AGAINST DEADLINE
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
Tuesday, August 22, 2006
FC Nordsjælland wingback ace Heath Pearce could be on the verge of new adventure, but must first sort through multiple options to find the right deal before the transfer window shuts on August 31st.

Reports surfacing in Denmark have the left side terror in play between several continental clubs, including Scottish giants Celtic and Bundesliga battlers Hannover 96, where he could line up opposite countryman Steve Cherundolo.

"I feel that I am ready to be sold and to play at a higher level," Pearce told a Danish newspaper BT last week.

However, when asked by YA about the chances of a move within the next nine days, Pearce agent Ivan Marko Benes coolly replied: "I don't want to speculate on that."

But a source close to the situation told YA that multiple proposals are on the table, but time for a transfer is quickly running off the clock.

The sometimes elusive UK work permit would also stand in the way of a Celtic switch, but the source believes the Wild Tiger's international status could grease the skids.

Pearce, who has donned the US jersey five times, has a goal and an assist in the first six games of the new season.

It could be tough times for attack-minded FC Nordsjælland, who stand fourth on the young campaign; they also have Ghana defender Francis Dickoh in the crosshairs of Eredivisie side FC Utrecht.

FCN get to back to work Wednesday with a Danish Cup visit to Vanløse, then return to league play Saturday at FC Midtjylland.
