Dempsey has lead the American scoring output this season
Today was yet another chapter in the amazing goal scoring by American forwards in Europe and Mexico.

After Jozy Altidore's two-goal effort today against FC Twente, his tally on the season has risen to 17 in all competitions, making him the third American to move beyond the 15 goal mark this season.

Next month the US national team will open camp in preparation for a series of friendlies and the start of 2014 World Cup Qualifying.

Jurgen Klinsmann has said that he will call up 23 plays for the camp and he will have an extended list of players on standby.

Bijev is on the rise quickly
US U-20 forward Villyan Bijev made his professional debut this week with Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The Bulgarian-born Bijev, 19, signed with Liverpool last summer and was loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf for the season. One of the key reasons why he was loaned out is that under EU rules, Bulgarian citizenship does not provide an automatic UK work permit yet.

Bobby Wood has struggled with injuries the last few years
The 19-year-old forward from Hawaii needs another knee operation that will end his season.

Wood had only recently returned to match fitness for 1860 Munich, but has learned that the same meniscus problem from last year has flared up again, requiring season ending surgery to hopefully fix the problem.

With a 16 team league and all teams having played each other home and away already, realistically the Pro League season is over in Belgium.

But ending a professional season in March would be quite ridiculous, so the Belgians have adopted an American idea - the play-offs!
