McCargo is moving up quickly at Nurnberg
US U-20 winger Tyrone McCargo received a promotion this spring at his club FC Nurnberg.

McCargo, 18, was with FC Nurnberg's U-19 last season where he showed promise despite dealing with a few injuries that limited his playing time. He missed a significant portion of the second half of the season because of a shoulder injury.

After 140 years of soccer history, it looks like Rangers FC will cease to exist, affecting three American players.

Early last week Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) rejected the final deal that would allow Rangers FC to survive. Rejecting Rangers' Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) offer means that the entity of Rangers Football Club PLC will vanish.

Caleb Patterson-Sewell has been rewarded after enjoying a strong season keeping Atletico CP afloat despite their woeful offense.

The Tennessee-born, Australia-raised goalkeeper Patterson-Sewell became the first American on the move this summer as he signed with Vitoria Setubal in the Portuguese top flight after spending the 2011-2012 season with second division Atletico.

Zak Whitbread has been released from Norwich City after two and a half seasons
American defender Zak Whitbread has been released by Norwich City following another injury-plagued season.

It was another half season for Whitbread as he missed almost four months of action due to a series of injuries at the start and end the campaign. Whitbread looked very strong since January, earning plaudits and speculation that he would be picked by Jurgen Klinsmann to finally represent the U.S. National Team this summer.
