Boyd had an amazing debut
The long awaited opening day weekend for many leagues is now in the books and it was an amazing few days for American players abroad.

Boyd celebrated his fantastic effort
Terrence Boyd scored a stunner for Rapid Vienna as they faced off against Michael Bradley and AS Roma in a pre-season friendly yesterday.

Michael Bradley's debut for the Giallorossi came in Austria as a tune up before heading to the United States to continue their pre-season, but it ended up being Terrence Boyd who was the star of the show. Roma took the lead in the 14th minute after a terrible mental lapse from Harald Pichler resulted in giving away possession only 12 yards from goal to Miralem Pjanic, who immediately placed a near-penalty kick to the far post.

Rangers wont be near the top flight for at least three years
Twenty-five of the 30 SFL clubs today voted on the fate of the new Rangers FC and decided the club must begin in the Third Division.

The news was an enormous setback for the country's most prestigious team who, even if all goes well, will not be able to return to the Scottish Premier league for at least four years. But it also puts the future of its current players in jeopardy who are all surely looking to move elsewhere.

Gonzalez was back after missing six months with a torn ACL
Omar Gonzalez has returned to action after missing nearly eight months with an ACL injury.

The towering 23-year old center back, hailed by many as one of the heirs apparent to Oguchi Onyewu and Carlos Bocanegra, led the Los Angeles Galaxy's impressive defense last season during their MLS Cup run, earning plenty of plaudits but no National Team opportunities.

US U-20 winger Tyrone McCargo received a promotion this spring at his club FC Nurnberg.
