Clint Dempsey will miss at least today's UEFA game against Wolfsburg and this weekend's Premier League game against Liverpool because of a thigh injury he sustained in the final minutes of Sunday's game against Wigan.

The club reported on its website that Dempsey was injured in the final minute of the game against Wigan when he was challenged in the penalty area on a play where no foul was called.

While Dempsey did finish the game, he was injured to the point where the club ordered a scan of his leg. The results of the scan have determined that there is muscular injury and that he will be forced to miss games.

It is unclear clear yet how long he will be out of action. The club confirmed that he will be out against Wolfsburg and Liverpool this weekend but went further to add that he could be out possibly longer.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. It is a real shame he has to miss any more playing time. Stay on the warpath Clint!
