Conor O'Brien will have to wait one more week to make his Austrian Bundesliga debut.
One week after joining Austrian team SC Wiender Neustadt following several seasons in Denmark, American midfielder Conor O'Brien is still waiting for his Austrian work permit to go through, according the statements on the club's website.
The club's statement confirmed that he will not be able to play in Saturday's game against Austria Wien due to "bureaucratic circumstances," and that they are expecting him to make his debut one week later on their visit to SV Grödig.
Wiener Neustadt has had a tough go so far in the new season, losing all three of their games by a combined 12-3 goal differential.
While this weekend's opponent Austria Wien is normally one of the tougher teams in the 10-team Bundesliga, the team is looking particularly vulnerable through their first three games with a pair of draws being the only two results.
Unfortunately, O'Brien will not be able to help his new team try to turn their season around at home against their area rivals, and instead will hope that all of his paperwork is finished in time for their trip to the Salzburg area team Grödig next weekend.
