ANDY SCHREUR - Thursday, March 6, 2014
Nottingham Forest defender and Downers Grove, Illinois native Eric Lichaj is set to miss up to a month after reinjuring his pelvis during last weekend's match, a 4-1 loss to Wigan Athletic, according to a report by Sky Sports.
Lichaj initially hurt his pelvis against Watford on January 30th and spent most of February resting in the hopes he could avoid surgery. However, after re-injuring it in his first match back, Forest stated Lichaj might have to have hernia surgery to fix the issue.
The former Aston Villa left back will add to their growing injury list with Andy Reid, Kevin Wilson, Henri Lansbury and David Vaughn all out of action at the moment. In addition, Chris Cohen, Jack Hobbs and Dexter Blackstock are all out for the remainder of the season.
Nottingham Forest are currently in fifth place in the Championship and are contending for a promotion playoff spot with Wigan, Queens Park Rangers and Reading. Forest next faces on-loan Brek Shea and last placed Barnsley on Saturday.
