CLINT WADDELL - Wednesday, January 23, 2013
American defender Parker Walsh has been added to the roster at Karlsruher SC.

The club was forced to look for a replacement for defender Sebastian Schiek, who has been sidelined for the season with a knee injury. Walsh has signed a contract which will keep him at KSC until the end of the season.

This will be Walsh's second term with the German club, which is currently playing in the 3. Bundesliga. He was part of KSC's "talent team" from 2009 to 2012, as well as being involved with the KSC's second team for two seasons.

Walsh joined KSC in training camp and made a positive impression on the team's officials. Head coach Markus Kauczinski was quoted on the team's website: "Parker showed the skills that we knew him for and that we were hoping for."

Walsh has been training without a club for the last half year in the United States.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
