Sporting Cristal attacking midfielder Diego Chavarri will miss the next several weeks of action due to a right ankle sprain suffered in Sporting's 1-0 victory over Cienciano over the weekend.

Chavarri suffered the sprain in the 38th minute of play in what initially looked to be a very serious injury.

The New York native had to be taken off the field in an ambulance in front of the home fans.

However after tests and x-rays, team doctors concluded that it is just a second-degree sprain and that Chavarri will be able to resume training in two weeks.

Sporting are currently fifth with ten points.

On the season Chavarri has appeared in four matches scoring two goals.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
