McGuire's soccer career started out at youth when he played with the youth academy at Chivas USA.

Following three years at the University of Tulsa, he would be picked 30th overall by the Houston Dynamo in the 2017 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. However, he would not stay there long as he was released.

The Philadelphia Union would sign McGuire in 2017 before being sent on loan to Bethlehem Steel FC in the United Soccer League.

In January 2019, the goalkeeper headed to Sweden where he signed with Gefle IF in the country's Division 1 Norra. He went on to appear in 30 games during the season.
