Club Career

Hamid started his career at DC United's academy and later became the first to sign a professional contract with the team. He made his professional debut in May 2010 in a game against the then Kansas City Wizards.

During his time with the Black and Red, Hamid helped the team win Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in 2013 with a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake.

After eight seasons with DC United, Hamid decided to make the move to Europe as he signed with Danish Superliga team FC Midtjylland. However, he has found it difficult to break into the starting eleven as he has featured in only one game, a 3-3 tie with Aalborg in April 2018.

In August 2018, it was announced that Hamid returned to DC United on loan from Midtjylland.

Despite making the move to Denmark, Hamid found it difficult to claim the starting spot. This led to him returning stateside to play with DC United on loan for the 2018 season.

International Career

Hamid has come through the US youth systems, playing for the U-18, U-20 and U-23 teams.

He would make his debut for the senior national team in January 2012 in a 1-0 win over Venezuela. He would be included among the US squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments in 2013 and 2017.
