Club Career

Fernandez's professional career started in January 2012 when he signed as a Home Grown Player with Real Salt Lake. However, he would not play his first game until July 2013 when he was sent out on loan to USL Pro team Phoenix FC when they took on Antigua
Barracuda FC.

Fernandez saw regular playing time when he was sent on another to RSL's reserve team, Real Monarchs, as he played 50 games over three seasons.

In September 2017, Fernandez would leave Major League Soccer as he signed a contract with Tigres UANL in Liga MX.

International Career

While holding dual US and Mexican citizenship, Fernandez has never been called up by the United States.
