Club Career

Heider began his career at TuS Recke before being scouted in 2003 for the youth team of VfL Osnabrück. He was promoted to the senior team of Osnabrück and played sixteen games scoring two goals. In July 2006, Heider moved to Werder Bremen where he played for the reserve team. He was released on May 2009. In June 2009, he signed for Holstein Kiel. In his time with the team, he played 221 games and scored 73 goals.

Heider returned to Osnabrück in 2016 after 10 years.

International Career

Heider has never been called up by the United States at any level.
