Tristan Bowen became the first player signed through the MLS Homegrown Player Initiative when he inked a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy in late 2008.
The California native made just one brief appearance in 2009, but earned significantly more playing time in 2010. Following the season, he was traded to LA's crosstown rivals, Chivas USA.
Bowen made three substitute appearances for Chivas USA in 2011, but generally struggled to find his way in Robin Fraser's first team. In August 2011, he was loaned out to Belgian second division club KSV Roeselare for the season.
Bowen had some involvement with the US U-20 team, but was not able to make the 2011 qualifying squad.
