Club Career

Bernstein is a product of Brown University. After college, he trialed briefly in Israel, but eventually returned to the US to begin his post-NCAA career. In 2010, he began the season with the Long Island Rough Riders of the PDL. However, he moved to the Puerto Rican league later that year when he signed with Sevilla FC Puerto Rico.

In early 2011, he went on trial at Mj°ndalen IF of Norway's Adeccoligaen. The trial was successful and Bernstein signed a one year contract.

Bernstein's season turned into a nightmare almost immediately. The defender was sent off in his first match after receiving two yellow cards. Soon after, he suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

In 2014, Bernstein played a vital role Mj°ndalen's promotion to the Tippeligaen as the team knocked of Brann in a two-leg playoff.

International Career

Bernstein has not appeared for any official version of the US national team, although he was part of the US team that played at the 2009 Maccabiah Games.

USA defender Timothy Chandler is back with Eintracht Frankfurt, but his coach is not thrilled about the timing of his return.
