Czech Republic top fighters FK SIAD Most have completed the acquisition of Peter Philipakos, signing the Yank attacker to a deal for next season.
According to Tobias Schade, a German agent who helped arrange the deal, the 24-year old will remain on the sidelines until the current Gambrinus Liga slate concludes.
"Peter signed his one-year contract with FK SIAD Most last Sunday, with a club option for a second year," he told YA. "He will stay in Most for the rest of the season and train with the team before going home for the summer break."
"He has to report back to the club on the 26th of June for preseason preparations."
The former Olympiakos man had auditioned for New York Red Bulls coach Bruce Arena while at a lower fitness level, but was able to clinch a Most contract that could resurrect his career.
"I think he has signed a good deal," added Schade. "He's doing well in training thus far and is back in shape, no comparison any more to his trial at NYRB."
"Most is a really professional club. I think it's run even more professional than some clubs here in the Bundesliga."
"Now its up to him to use his chance. I think there is no league in Europe with more scouts from the big leagues watching the games than the Gambrinus League in the Czech Republic, so if Peter performs well he has all options to get his career back in track."
Most stand 11th with four games remaining in the 2006/07 season, and despite only booking two wins in their last 15 games, are eight points clear of the drop zone.
