USMNT defender Heath Pearce will miss Wednesday's match with Guatemala in Frisco, Texas after being ruled out with a bone bruise on his foot.
The 22-year old also missed the 3-1 shellacking of Ecuador in Tampa, Florida over the weekend.
"I tried to give it a shot today in training, but it's just not gonna happen," a disappointed Pearce told YA late Tuesday night. "It hasn't responded like we would have hoped, so I'm not going to play tomorrow."
"I spoke briefly to [club team FC Nordsjaelland] about it, and tomorrow there will be more discussions about about returning to the club. I'll probably miss a some time back in Denmark too."
Arriving in the US with full health, the youngster says he noticed the foot issues while taking in some shopping in Florida.
"It was fine before I got here, but then I was in the mall walking around and it just really started hurting," the recent AEK Athens target said. "I've gotten it checked out and the good news is that it's not a stress fracture."
"I'm going to have to give it some rest for a few days, then we'll figure out what to do from there."
Pearce, subject to much transfer speculation over the winter break, will be out of contract at the conclusion of the Superliga season. The Modesto, California native has five international caps.
