Former Indiana Hoosier Lee Nguyen made his Dutch debut in a losing cause as Young PSV fell to their AZ Alkmaar counterparts in a Beloften Gatorade Cup quarterfinal contest.

The American worked the full 90 minutes and drew rave reviews in the official AZ site write-up, which rated him as the top performer on the losing side.

Young PSV phenom Dirk Marcellius put one in his own goal to start the scoring in the 7th minute, and Kees Luyckx completed the margin midway through the second half.

The team return to league play on February 6th, when they will host Young Willem II.

Notes

Michael Bradley did not feature as Young Heerenveen also dropped out of the Reserves Cup with a 2-1 loss to Young Feyenoord.
