COVENTRY PASS ON ZAVAGNIN
EXTRA TIME
CHAD WINGER - Monday, February 7, 2005
For the second consecutive Monday, out-of-contract midfielder Kerry Zavagnin sees his week begin without a contract offer from a Coca-Cola Championship side.

Zavagnin, who had spent the last week on trial with Coventry City, will now have to explore other options as the relegation candidates have decided to pursue other options.

"Kerry is no longer training with the club," the Sky Blues' Nicola Rutledge told YA on Monday. "We have declined to take it any further than the trial."

Prior to his trial with Coventry, the 30 year-old had spent seven days with promotion candidates Sunderland.

Zavagnin has appeared in nearly 200 matches for MetroStars and Kansas City in a seven-year MLS career, winning MLS Cup in 2000 and the 2004 US Open Cup for Bob Gansler's Wizards.

Making his international debut on October 25, 2000 against Mexico, Zavagnin has recorded 10 caps for the United States.
