Veteran Blackburn Rovers keeper Brad Friedel has signed a one-year extension to his existing contract with the Lancashire club.
The FA Cup hero, who has rung up more than 300 starts since arriving from Liverpool, will be 38 years old by the time the improved deal expires.
"He's extended his contract," a Blackburn press liaison told YA. "His existing contract runs out in the summer of 2008, and he's extended it by a further 12 months."
The former UCLA Bruin and Columbus Crew stopper has been at Rovers since November of 2000, when he was signed by then-boss Graeme Souness.
In his more than six years with the club, Friedel has been named to the EPL best 11 and received the acclaim of being designated Blackburn Rovers Player of the Year in 2003.
