June 1 was the official start of the summer transfer season and as usual the rumors as to who is going where has reached a fever pitch by the media. Talk of big money transfers by the top clubs, free agent signings and those players that want out of their current clubs will, without a doubt, fill every newspaper, magazine or online site.

There is no time to rest for the US National Team as they have begun their defense of the CONCACAF Gold Cup trophy. So far so good with a complete victory over Grenada on Independence Day in Seattle.

The crowds have returned home, the lights in the stadiums have been shut off and the vuvuzelas have been packed away, at least for now. The curtain has been brought down on another FIFA Confederations Cup. Despite the lack of full stadiums for some of the matches, there was a high degree of excitement at every game and a lot of teams did not disappoint. From the look of things the 2010 World Cup could be one of the best tournaments ever.
